I am officialy a Bandster. woot woot

Home sweet home. I am so glad to be home, I have just been napping all day, seeing as I slept poorly in the hospital last night. I did gain 5 lbs tho :( I haven't had anything to eat since night before last, I'm just hoping this is from bloating/fluids, and swelling. I tried a few tiny bites of oatmeal, but no go. The overall experience was not bad. I couldn't believe that one minute I was laying in the OR and they said, you are going t take a little nap, and the next thing I know I woke up in recovery. I did have a couple tears yesterday morning while waiting. I think I was just nervous. Then they gave me something and I felt very relaxed all the sudden. Tomorrow I am going to try to take a small walk. My tummy hurts some and I want to get things moving in there.
Thank you everyone for all your thoughts and good wishes. Such a great community I feel a part of here!

  1. YAY welcome to the other side! I am so happy everything went well for you, you were in my thoughts and I couldn't wait to see a post from you. Don't worry about those 5lb its healing time, and I'm sure thats just gas, and your body being in shock. Make sure to take little walks it will help with the gas! You did great, can't wait to watch your progress!

  2. Congratulations Athena!!!

I've been banded nearly 12 months and it's the best thing I have ever done.

As Kristen said, don't worry about the scales. Now is a time to rest and recover.

    Congrats again!!!!

  3. Glad everything went well. Moving around will help, the more you're able to move around the stronger you'll get and it helps get rid of the gas from surgery too. Yea for you!!!!!!

  5. Oh, congratulations!!! You made it through the other side.

Don't worry about that gain - we all did it!! It's just gas they put in you and water and everything else in between. You will lose it again very very soon.

Try to move if you can. It really helps. Gets rid of that nasty gassy pain too!!

  10. Don't feel bad, I gained 8! And it stayed on me for almost an entire week, I was so gassy. But 10 days later and I'm starting to notch down from the pre-op weigh in, so hang in there!
